Owl

Visit Bird Photography Weekly to see some amazing bird pictures and info.
These pictures were taken at a reservoir in norther Colorado. The main part
of the lake is open and pretty much used for water skiing. There is a small
channel, at the western end, where a few owls live. We like to take the kayaks
up the channel to try and catch a glimpse the owls. They get spooked pretty
easy and will scoot to the back of there hole or fly away.
Pretty sure this is a Barn Owl
Tom looking for the owls

Hi Tom.. just to confirm that is a Barn Owl... and a cracker it is. Well spotted and captured.
You mentioned about my pictures on Sky Watch this week.. the program I used was from a company called Serif you can find them here.. http://www.serif.com/ sign up for their emails for fantastic offers.. The one I used for them this week was called Serif DrawPlus 8. I also use Serif PhotoPlus 11 which is very good.. If you have ever priced up the likes of Photoshop you will be surprised at the cost of Serif's stuff..
Ha! I sound like a salesman for them.. but I can only say good stuff about the company.

Beautiful Barn owls. We don't have them on our side of the mountain up here( or so I have been told.) A friend says she has them nesting in her barn, so I am hoping to get photos this year. thanks for sharing
